To enter Cuba, you always need a 90-day tourist visa, called a "tourist card", which you have to show at immigration/passport control, and medical insurance. Sometimes nobody asks about insurance when entering the country, but if they do and you don't have it, unfortunately you will have to take out a much more expensive one in Cuba.

It is very simple and much faster than going to the Cuban embassy first. Simply apply for the tourist card in "Buy Cuba visa online" or select the insurance for foreigners in the "Insurance" tab...
